Rhys and Hannah’s Wedding at Winters Barn, Canterbury

I recently photographed Rhys and Hannah’s wedding at Winters Barn in Canterbury. Winters Barn is a great venue – it’s rustic but with a touch of ‘modern’, and it’s surrounded by beautiful gardens and countryside, which works well for both indoor and outdoor photos.

From Prep to the Ceremony

The day kicked off with both Rhys and Hannah getting ready on-site, which made it easy to capture those early moments as they prepared for the ceremony. They chose to get married in the barn, which has a lovely warm feel with its wooden beams and fairy lights. After the ceremony, they walked back down the aisle to a confetti shower, with friends and family cheering them on.

Working Around the Rain

It was a typical British day with plenty of heavy rain, which meant we had to adapt. Luckily, we managed to get some group shots outside during a break in the weather, and even caught a rainbow over the fields for a few unique portraits. The storm clouds added a bit of drama to the photos, giving them something extra.

Speeches and Evening Shots

After the meal, we moved into speeches, where friends and family shared stories and laughs. After the sun went down, I took Rhys and Hannah outside for a few shots under the garden lights, which created a nice, relaxed atmosphere for the evening portraits.

A Laid-Back Day with an Energetic Finish

The whole day felt relaxed, with everyone enjoying themselves and celebrating with Rhys and Hannah. Once the music started the dance floor was packed and it was the perfect end to a fun, laid-back day.
