About
Hi, I’m James. I live in Broadstairs by the sea and i’ve been shooting weddings for over 10 years now.
A bit about me…
My favourite film is Forrest Gump. I saw it at the cinema as a kid and it inspired me to travel.
I love Indian food. No trip to London is complete without a visit to Brick Lane in the evening.
The best part of the wedding day for me is when the bride and groom see each other for the first time. So many emotions.
My most favourite place in the world is Yellowstone National Park.
I’m also getting married later this year to my fiance Oscarine. We got engaged at the Angkor Wat in Cambodia in late 2023.
How it all started
Back in 2012 I was working in London in an office job. Good times but creatively I knew that it wasn’t for me. I was on the tube one morning and I saw an advert for a really cheap around the world air ticket with STA Travel. It got me thinking. 3 days later I bought the ticket and handed in my notice. 4 weeks later I touched down in Kuala Lumpar and I bought a cheap SLR. I spent the next 6 months photographing South East Asia and the USA. Every good shot I took went straight onto Facebook and I started to build up a following of people commenting nice things on my photographs.
My First Wedding
Returning from traveling I moved back to Kent and on a night out in Broadstairs a lady called Natalie who had been following my travel photo’s came up to me at the bar. “James, I love your travel photo’s…I want you to photograph my wedding in Ibiza next year”. A couple of beers down, I said YES. It was a year away and I knew I had to take the opportunity. A few days later we met up for a coffee and we booked the flights in. The nerves on the morning of the wedding were quickly replaced with excitement and I absolutely loved shooting the day. Natalie & Max loved their photos and this is how I started my journey into wedding photography.
The Present Day
10 years later and I now shoot weddings full time across Kent. I have built up a documentary style which attracts couples that just want to have have fun on their wedding day with their family and friends without being pulled around for photo’s all day. The best part of the wedding day for me is capturing the moment when the bride and groom see each other for the first time. To hear more about my style you can check out my new intro video below - it looks like its all taken professionally in one shot but it actually took about 8x hours to make with about 50x different takes ;)
