Hi, I’m James Davies, a documentary wedding photographer based in Broadstairs. I photograph weddings across Kent with one simple approach: let the day happen naturally and capture it exactly as it really is.

For me, the whole aim of a wedding is to have a brilliant time with your family and friends, not to spend half the day posing for photographs. I work quietly in the background, capturing the spontaneous laughter, the real emotion, and all those unscripted moments that make your wedding day completely your own. Every wedding has its own personality, and that’s exactly what I want to come through in your photos.

With over 12 years of experience as a Kent wedding photographer, I know when to stay out of the way and when a little gentle direction is helpful. Of course, we’ll still make time for family photos and some relaxed portraits, but I promise not to keep you away from your guests for ages or turn your day into a staged photoshoot.

I’m a recommended photographer at The Chapel House Estate, Winters Barns, The East Quay Venue, Solton Manor, The Crescent Turner and other Kent wedding venues, with over 70 five-star Google reviews. My Photography Style

My style is all about letting you enjoy your wedding day. I work quietly and naturally, so you can spend the day with your family and friends while I capture it as it happens.

If you'd like family and group photos, I'll get them done quickly so you're not away from your guests for long. Your portraits are relaxed, with no over-the-top posing, just natural photos of the two of you together.

Afterwards, I edit every photo in a natural, filmic style, with true-to-life skin tones and colours. No heavy filters or passing trends, just photos you'll still love looking at in twenty years.

    Ten hours of documentary coverage, from the morning preparations through to the evening, with a fully edited gallery of over 650+ images delivered within 28 days.

    Before the wedding, we’ll have a video call to go over your timings and plans, and I’ll give you a few tips on what to expect from me on the day. The package also includes a relaxed portrait session, group photos with family and friends, full rights to print, share and download your images, access to my online print lab, and a private online gallery that’s easy to view and share.

  • £1200

    Six hours of documentary coverage, ideal for smaller, more intimate weddings, with a fully edited gallery of over 375+ images delivered within 28 days.

    Before the wedding, we’ll have a video call to go over your timings and plans, and I’ll give you a few tips on what to expect from me on the day. The package also includes a relaxed portrait session, group photos with family and friends, full rights to print, share and download your images, access to my online print lab, and a private online gallery that’s easy to view and share. Travel anywhere in Kent is included.

  • £3500

    Natural, documentary photography and cinematic videography, booked together for your whole day. You’ll get 10 hours of coverage, over 650 edited images and a 4K highlight film from one of my trusted videographers, Emmanuel Films or Dudley Ross Films.

    It includes everything in my Full Day package, from the pre-wedding video call to your private online gallery. Travel anywhere in Kent is included.
